Owner & Operator of Dain Bramage Entertainment | Main Engineer at EOTW Off-Grid

Shawn Janousek runs Dain Bramage Entertainment and keeps KDBR on the air from an off-grid setup in Soldotna, Alaska. He’s been living off-grid for over a decade and currently handles nearly every part of the operation — engineering, broadcasting, station management, original music, and keeping the power systems running.

In 2016 he survived a serious coma that permanently changed the way he sees the world. That experience is what eventually led to the creation of Dain Bramage Entertainment and the launch of KDBR as a free, no-payola platform for independent artists.

Shawn makes his own music and previously released tracks through TuneCore before pulling them due to dissatisfaction with the service. He plans to re-upload his catalog to a new platform in the future.

Outside of the station he is also connected to K. Janousek Photography, though that side of the work is handled separately.

Raw, independent, and built from the ground up in the Alaskan tundra — that’s the operating standard.
